If you are a professional who works with neurodivergent (ADHD, autistic, PTSD, dyslexic, etc) people, you work with burnout

You might have felt like:

  • your current methods help… but don’t fully resolve it

  • your clients improve, but keep coming back to burnout

  • your clients resist tools or feel they are “not working”

  • you and client is aware that systemic issues contribute massively, but don't want to feel hopeless against them

  • you’re missing a clear way to approach more complex cases

Main outcome:
A clear, structured approach to working with neurodivergent burnout, so you can understand what’s actually going on, and know what to do next (instead of guessing or trying everything).

You will also be able to:

  • Identify what type of burnout you’re working with (including complex / layered burnout)

  • Understand why standard approaches often don’t work

  • Apply the right intervention at the right time (instead of trial and error)

  • Work confidently with multi-layer cases (trauma, biology, environment, identity)

  • Recognise when and how to integrate or signpost to other professionals

What you’ll walk away with:

You are likely already a skilled, caring professional.

And still…

  • your clients stay stuck

  • progress is slow or inconsistent

  • burnout keeps coming back

This is not because you’re doing something wrong. It’s because most approaches don’t account for the full picture of neurodivergent burnout (including chronic conditions, neurodivergent traits, systemic issues, among many others).

This neuro-affirming training fills that gap.

Methods and frameworks

In this training, you’ll learn:

  • map those layers

  • prioritise what actually matters

  • apply existing tools more effectively

Plus: real case examples, psychoeducation and resources for your clients, and a clear structure — not overwhelm.

There will be NO puzzle pieces, person-first language.

This is NOT another training that gives you more information and tools without context. This is about understanding how everything fits together.

If there was one framework that worked, we wouldn’t all be here. Neurodivergent burnout is not one problem, it’s a combination of overlapping layers.

Foundations

  • What burnout is, including layered burnout

  • Burnout basics, roadblocks, and why standard approaches often fail

  • Nervous system, somatic foundations, and the working framework

You will:

Build a clearer foundation for understanding burnout, how it develops, and why the same advice does not work for everyone. You’ll leave with a practical framework for thinking about prevention, recovery, and what to assess first.

Part 1

Part 2

Personal Layers

  • Neurodivergent traits, processing differences, and energy patterns (e.g. ADP, RSD, interoception issues etc.)

  • Coexisting conditions (e.g. dysautonomia, PMDD, CFS, PEM, MCAS) that can appear as burnout or exacerbate it

  • Emotional regulation, RSD, alexithymia, shutdowns, meltdowns, and grief

You will:

Learn how to look beneath the surface of burnout and recognise the personal layers that may be increasing load or slowing recovery. You’ll connect these factors back to practical case formulation and support.

Part 3

Social & Systemic Layers

  • Hormones, gender, and other contextual influences

  • Masking, identity, social conditioning, and internalised ableism

  • Environment, systems, demand mapping, and long-term sustainability

You will:

Explore how burnout is shaped by the person’s wider context, not just what happens inside them. You’ll learn to identify social and systemic pressures, think about meaningful adaptations, and support more sustainable recovery.

STRUCTURE AND CONTENTS

The training is interactive, engaging, and discussion-based, with practical examples, reflection, case study, and space to connect the framework to your own client work.

Paula Liub is a former psychologist and burnout specialist for ADHD, autistic, and highly sensitive people.

Her work combines:

  • lived experience of repeated AuDHD burnout

  • psychology + neuroscience background

  • mindfulness & somatic practices applications

  • 20 years of experience, research, and study in the field

She developed this approach after seeing that many clients improve in therapy, but don’t fully recover and many practitioners are missing a way to connect the dots.
